Although they can’t compete with the sheer number and scope of girlie bars in the city, there are a lot of ladyboy bars in Bangkok. The most well known are the kinds of ladyboy go go bars that appeared in The Hangover 2.

The Check In Bar is located on Sukhumvit Soi 10 near the Lollipop 1 blowjob bar and the Paradiso Suites Hotel. It is on the ground floor of the Check In Residence, which is a 24 room guest friendly hotel with moderate quarters available at a reasonable price. The bar used to be located on Soi 7 but moved to make room for some developments on that street.

The bar is a really laid back place. It has a sort of beer bar vibe, but it is a bit nicer. It has nice cool ambient lighting that really sets the mood. It’s a comfortable place to hang out. Drink prices are totally reasonable for both customers and the ladyboys. Of course ladyboy drinks are a little more expensive at 150 Baht ($4.50 USD), but the ladyboys at the Check In are more than worth it.

There are a lot of ladyboys working at Check In, but the actual roster changes from one night to the next. At times there are more than a dozen ladyboys in the bar. Other times it is a lot more quiet with only a handful of ladyboys working. Whoever is around is usually well dressed. They normally wear nice evening dresses that show off their curves but sometimes they wear sexy bikinis. Most of the ladyboys are average looking. A few are rough, and a few others are really hot. It’s like any place else then really.

Most of the ladyboys at Check In are eager to go out of the bar with customers. The bar fine is a reasonable 500 Baht ($15 USD), and the ladyboys usually ask for 1000 Baht ($30) or more for a short session. Short time rooms are available right above the bar so customers do not have to go far to get some action.

Of course some guys who visit the bar just want to relax. It has all the usual games and a pool table that is fit for some billiards. Some of the ladyboys are expert with the sticks and balls as you might imagine.

The bar technically opens at 5:00 PM but the ladyboys don’t usually start showing up until later. When they do arrive, they still need to do their hair and makeup. The bar doesn’t get really lively until 8:00 PM or later. It is open until 1:00 AM or later depending on how many people are inside.

Uniquely, the bar claims to drug test all of the ladyboys on staff. I have heard of testing for disease (though unfortunately not enough), but testing for drugs is new to me. I guess this ads to some level of assurance for customers. Indeed it may, since I have never heard of a single problem or overcharge at the Check in!

Over the years I have reviewed a majority of the major ladyboy bars in Thailand, but thus far I have not covered Katoeys Are Us. That is a real shame and a serious error on my part considering that Katoeys Are Us is a one of a kind bar that is one of the most well run operations of its type to be found anywhere.

Katoeys Are Us is a major go go bar located just off of Walking Street in Pattaya. Walking Street is of course the most famous part of Pattaya, in spite of the hopes of tourism officials and prudes to turn the place into a family tourism destination. Walking Street is famous not because it’s next to a beach, but because it is filled with go go bars where women in various states of undress dance on stage in hope of luring in a paying customer.

Now with Katoeys Are Us in full operation, it is not just women who dance on stages along Walking Street. Thai chicks with dicks are doing it too. Katoeys Are Us isn’t located right on Walking Street, but it’s so close that it might as well be. Katoeys Are Us is located on Soi Diamond, which is just up the block from Walking Street and only a few steps from the well known Windmill go go bar.

Katoeys Are Us opened a while ago. It wasn’t the first or only ladyboy go go bar in Thailand then and it isn’t now. Places like Baby Boom have been around. But Katoeys Are Us still made waves. What’s so special about Katoeys Are Us?

Katoeys Are Us is just off of Walking Street. Katoeys Are Us is a very large bar. I mean, it’s absolutely huge by go go bar standards. When you walk in there’s a big stage in the middle of the floor then seats all around the walls of the room. On top of that there are tables and a bar toward the back.

The stage is lined with poles and the poles are worked by a lot of ladyboys. I mean a lot, seriously. It wouldn’t be anything to see maybe twenty ladyboys on stage at a given time. Most of them are really hot too. Probably half actually look like girls. They also have a few Amazons too and one or two with massively overinflated boobs, but there are plenty of ladylike ladyboys including even some who grew their own boobs. A lot of the dancers are early twenties, only a few are older.

It’s “mixed nuts” in a real way, with something sure to satisfy everyone. I’ve actually heard that some guys who weren’t even into ladyboys ended up playing with kathoeys from http://ladyboyreports.com/ladyboys-in-thailand/review-of-straps-go-go-bar-in-bangkok-thailand/ once they wandered inside and saw the dancers on stage.

All of the ladyboys at Katoeys Are Us are pre-op. That means they have their block and tackle intact. Apparently, the people who own the place don’t hire post-op ladyboys. It’s no Straps.

The dancers wear bikinis. A lot of them drop their tops too. Some sit around with their tops off the whole time they are in the bar, probably proud of their big boobs and wanting to show them off to everyone. Apparently this isn’t a probably in Thailand, since it’s not illegal for “guys” to go topless!

Yet Katoeys Are Us is a more or less quite place. It doesn’t ever seem to get packed out with customers. The one or two ladyboys posted out front aren’t aggressive about pulling in customers. Inside, the ladyboys aren’t aggressive at all! They’re up for fun and all, they just don’t get totally in your face as is the case at most ladyboy bars. There’s no pressure or begging for drinks. It’s really laid back!

It’s not so laid back that it’s dead though. The ladyboys inside are lively and fun. Most of them can speak English fairly well too. I don’t know what it is, but ladyboys working in Thai bars seem to be able to speak English a lot better than the ladies working in Thai bars. Something for a sociologist with too much grant money on his hands to study I guess.

The bar fine at Katoeys Are Us is 600 Baht. There are rooms upstairs along with numerous short time hotels nearby. Some guys also take ladyboys out of the bar and to their own rooms. Most of the ladyboys seem eager to make extra money by leaving the bar which only makes sense.

This review of Chili Ladyboy Bar in Bangkok is long overdue. Chili is not one of the better know ladyboy bars in Bangkok, but that is of no real fault of the bar itself. The place is run rather well and has a very large staff of ladyboys.

The ladyboys at Chili are friendly. There is a wide range of looks at the bar, and dancers who range from university to middle age. Simply put, Chili is the kind of bar that most ladyboy lovers would enjoy even though it is far from perfect.

Location of Chili Ladyboy Bar

Chili Ladyboy Bar is located inside of the very famous Nana Entertainment Plaza. Nana Plaza itself is located on Sukhumvit Soi 4 in the heart of lower Sukhumvit. This area is popular with foreigners and locals alike. It is packed with restaurants, shopping, entertainment and more.

Nana Plaza is very easy to find. The place is so big and well known that most people even refer to the street it located on as “Soi Nana.” The closest stop on the BTS sky train is called Nana. The BTS even plays a recorded announcement that repeats the word “Nana” when the train approaches the stop.

Once inside of Nana Plaza however, Chili is not so easy to find. It may have the most hidden location of any bar in the entire plaza. That is because it is tucked away in a back corner behind other bars. It cannot really be seen from any other part of Nana Plaza.

To access Chili Ladyboy Bar, one has to take the first staircase on the left that. At the top of that staircase one finds the post-op Straps bar to the left and the corner entrance of Chili off to the right. There are usually some ladyboys out front, but the bar is smart enough to station the stunners on the ground floor. There they hold signs reading “Chili” and escort customers up the stairs to the semi-hidden bar entrance.

Chili Bar Layout

Chili Bar is a moderate to large go go bar. It has plenty of seating all around the walls and a big stage in the middle. All of the seats give a decent view, but the best sights can be seen from the left side.

The stage is large enough to hold at least a dozen ladyboys at a time. There are usually that many on stage plus many more scattered around the bar. That is one top of the ladyboys milling around outside, and the beauties down at the bottom of the stairs.

The only downside to the layout at Chili Ladyboy Bar is the bathroom. It is small and simply not well kept. In addition, there is only one restroom in the place. So any women who go to Chili Bar have to deal with that toilet and its seat that looks to have been splattered more than a woman in a bukkake video.

Ladyboys at Chili

There are a lot of ladyboys at Chili. There could easily be thirty ladyboys at Chili on any given night. Probably there are even more than that around. Getting an exact count would be difficult as they come and go through the bar so often.

There is also a lot variety at Chili. All sorts of looks are represented. That means there are muscular amazons and petite ladylike ladyboys that look almost exactly like real women. There are tall and short ladyboys. They range in age too. The youngest are twenty years old. The oldest are in their thirties, and honestly it shows.

That usually ends once they buy a drink for at least one ladyboy.

Pretty much all of the ladyboys at Chili can bottom. For the uninitiated that means they take it in the ass. Some have functioning penises that can get erect and cum, but others don’t. Among those who can get hard, quite a few top. That means they can penetrate anally if you aren’t aware. There are also a few versatile ladyboys at Chili who can top, bottom, or do both. Some will even work with couples, which seems to be a popular option in Bangkok despite the dearth of providers.

The bar fine at Chili Ladyboy Bar seems to be fluid. At the time of this review, the bar fine is 750 Baht ($23 USD). That is slightly more than most other bars in Nana Plaza charge. The ladyboys warn that the price can change however. At least one boasts that it will increase “to 800 or maybe 900 soon.”

Some of the ladyboys at Chili seem to have a very high opinion of themselves. There is also a mamasan who tries to wrench money out of customers when possible. Because of these things, the prices asked for actual sexual services can sometimes be on the high side.

There are several ladyboys at Chili who will go with a customer to a room for a short time for 1000 Baht ($30 USD). But there are others who want as much as 3000 Baht or more, even if they provide the exact same set of services. This is the way it is at Chili Ladyboy Boy, though most providers are open to negotiations.

Conclusion

Chili Ladyboy Bar is a big and active go go bar in Nana Plaza. It is perhaps a bit hampered by its obscure location, but they get around that. The gorgeous ladylike ladyboys on the ground floor are an excellent form of advertising. They help ensure that the bar always has customers.

The owners of Chili Ladyboy Bar also own the popular Erotica go go bar with real women. They obviously know how to run a bar whether staffed with ladies or ladyboys. It seems there success will continue in the future as long as their bars stay on track.

Mercury Ladyboy Bar is a go go bar located in Bangkok’s infamous Nana Entertainment Plaza. The bar employs a number of ladyboys who dance on stage for customers. In many cases they do a lot more than that too, as this review will go on to explain.

If you are curious about ladyboy go go bars in Bangkok, you should get a good idea of what they are like from this review. Mercury operates in the same way as a lot of other ladyboy go go bars in town. At the same time, there are some things that set it apart.

Location of Mercury

Mercury is located on the middle floor of Nana Plaza. That means you have to go up one flight of stairs if you are starting from the ground floor. Looking at the entrance of Nana Plaza, Mercury will be on the right hand side.

Mercury is very easy to find for two reasons. One is the big lighted sign out front that reads “Mercury.” Another reason is that there are almost always a lot of hot ladyboys sitting out in front of the place.

These ladyboys aren’t exactly aggressive, but they do let be known that they are present and available. Quite a few men have been convinced to go inside of Mercury after quite literally running into one or more of these sexy shemales.

Mercury bar layout

Mercury isn’t a very big bar by Nana Plaza standards. But it is definitely as large as it needs to be. Any more room might make the place look empty or cavernous. Instead, it looks just right. It is an active and fun place without being overcrowded.

Inside there seating on the left and right sides. It’s the typically go go bar style seating arrangement with row seats and tables. These seats are easy to get in and out of. Plus, you can sit close to the stage or further away if you want some distance.

The stage itself isn’t very big, but it can easily fit ten dancers at a time. That’s good since there are usually about ten ladyboys on stage at any given time. Anytime a customer walks in they assemble in front and motion that they are thirsty in a ploy to get a quick lady drink.

Ladyboys at Mercury

Mercury has a mix of probably twenty ladyboys working. Most are feminine looking with quite a few actually being near totally passable. They do have some masculine or amazonian dancers who look like they could manhandle a pro wrestler, but they are in the minority.

All of the ladyboys are Thai. They have typically brown skin with long brown hair. A few have lighter skin and look more like the Korean or Hello Ladyboy style. There is also at least one mixed-race ladyboy with dark skin and curly hair.

Overall, the ladyboys at Mercury are incredibly good looking. Most are fit with fake boobs. A few have more natural tits developed with the help of hormones. They all wear bikinis are quick to drop their tops in the bar.

The famous ladyboy porn star Wine works at Mercury. She can be found there most nights if she is not busy with a customer. Wine is famous for her remarkable good looks, and rightfully so. She has been with a lot of customers to be sure. But untold thousands more have wanked to her porn videos that are all over the internet.

Prices and services

At any go go bar in Thailand the women are looking for customers. They can make money from lady drinks, and some coyote dancers thrive on that. But by and large, dancers at Thai go go bars make their money by having sex with customers. Mercury is no different.

Ladyboys are usually even more eager than “real women” in go go bars to have sex with a customer. Female go go dancers will sometimes make excuses or outright turn a guy down. Ladyboy dancers rarely do so. That is true at Mercury as well.

Most dancers will want a lady drink in order to spend time with you. That’s how you get to know each other. A lady drink at Mercury is 150 Baht ($4.50 USD). Not long after having a drink, a lot of guys will take a ladyboy out of the bar. The barfine at Mercury is a reasonable 700 Baht ($22 USD). On top of that, customers have to compensate the ladyboys for their time.

Ladyboys at Mercury want between 1000 and 2000 Baht ($30-60 USD) for short time. They prefer to do it in one of the short time hotels in Nana Plaza. Some will go to a guy’s room if isn’t too far away. A few will also do overnight “long time” sessions for 3000 Baht ($92 USD) or more.

Some of the ladyboys at Mercury have functional penises. Most can bottom, or receive anal sex. Some can top, or deliver anal sex. Quite a few are versatile, which means they can do top, bottom, or both. None are shy about discussing their services and abilities.

Conclusion

Mercury is far from being the biggest ladyboy bar in Nana Plaza. It is not the most well know in the plaza either, despite the presence of the famous ladyboy Wine.

Ladyboys have long been present in Thailand as books like The Third Sex demonstrate. But there was a time when ladyboy bars were pretty rare. Not long ago there were only a couple in Nana Plaza. Nowadays there are many.

With so many ladyboys bars in Nana Plaza, a small place like Mercury can easily get lost in the pack. That is not due to the bar itself or the ladyboys inside however. They are a mostly attractive bunch who really do their best to please.

Bandit’s Hideout is one of the many short time style bars on Soi 6 in Pattaya, Thailand. There are a lot of things that set it apart from the other short time bars on Soi 6 however. There seems to be a growing trend toward differentiation on Soi 6, whereas most bars used to follow basically the same formula up and down the strip.

What sets Bandit’s Hideout apart? Well for starters it’s a mixed bar. That isn’t as rare as it used to be, but it’s still not the norm. What I mean by mixed is that the staff at the bar is made up partly of ladyboys and partly of “real women.” In the case of Bandit’s there seem to be six ladyboys working and about six regular girls. Of course this is subject to change at any minute. Nothing is fast in the desert but transformations can be quick in Southeast Asia. Just ask any post-op. The last time I stopped by there were only ladyboys on staff: a super aggressive Amazon and a more ladylike and attractive ladyboy who was on an intense hormone regime that allowed her to grow a nice natural set of boobs but rendered her willy ineffective for anything other than taking a leak.

Another thing that makes Bandit’s Hideout a little different is that the bar has an open front. Sure there are some other bars like that on Soi 6 too, but they at least seem to be in the minority. Most bars have glass fronts and closing doors, and for good reason. With an open front people on the street and in other bars can see what’s going on inside the bar. So Bandit’s Hideout isn’t much of a hideout at all. On top of that, an open front bar can’t be properly cooled with an air conditioner. Fans are nice, but they don’t always do the trick.

Finally, Bandit’s is probably the only bar on Soi 6 that has service workers who do not partake with customers. These two waitresses are probably the best looking real ladies in the bar, but as their t-shirt uniforms would indicate they are only there to deliver drinks. They don’t play with the customers.

Otherwise Bandit’s is a fairly normal bar, that is if anything on Soi 6 can be considered normal. It has large cushioned booth seating towards the back that does give some privacy. Really though anything requiring real privacy is probably done in the rooms upstairs, access by climbing an insanely steep set of stairs on the right side of the bar.

Pat Bar 2 is a ladyboy bar on the hectic and wild Soi 6 in Pattaya. As the name might suggest it is the second in a series of bars. The first Pat bar is right next door and has the unsurprising name of Pat Bar 1. Pat Bar 2 opened in what used to be a hair salon for the working women on the street, so it didn’t take the place of any other bar.

Apparently, Pat Bar 2 was originally meant to be a bar for “regular girls” when it opened back in 2015. I don’t know what happened with that plan but almost right after it opened the bar was more of a mixed bag with both ladyboys and regular women. Nowadays it is a purely ladyboy bar which is probably a good thing for the fans of the third sex.

I personally don’t get the idea behind the mixed bars. People always try them out in Thailand but they never seem to be all that successful. Usually they end up in two directions. Either the bars are popular with guys looking for genetic girls and the few ladyboys on hand get ignored or even insulted by punters or the ladyboy lovers come to dominate and the regular women end up leaving the bar for greener pastures.

Whatever the case was at Pat Bar 2 it is now a bar staffed with ladyboys and visited by guys who like them. I don’t know how many first timers or experimenters end up at Pat Bar 2 but if I had to guess I would say that most of the customers at Pat Bar 2 are probably quite familiar with kathoeys.

That’s because the bar is totally open to the street. It’s not that big either. What that means is that people walking by the street can see right inside, so anyone shy about spending time with a ladyboy would be right out of luck.

It used to be that Soi 6 was only visited by people interested in what the street had to offer. Nowadays though it gets its fair share of tourist couples who love to gawk, including even some people who insist on recording everything they come across on their phones or handheld cameras. Who knows what they do with the footage. I guess they upload it to the internet so sexual deviants who dare visit known places of prostitution can be identified by facial recognition software and outed by artificial intelligence sometime in the near future. Or maybe not.

Whatever the case Pat Bar 2 never seems to get all that busy, but I doubt that has anything to do with fears of a Brave New World. It’s more likely that the place just gets lost in the mix of bars on the street, especially with scantly clad women and ladyboys out in the street trying to pull in customers.

There are usually around a half dozen ladyboys working at Pat Bar 2 on any given day. They tend to be on the older and more manly or “amazonian” side of things, though for some reason they aren’t that aggressive at all. They do hang in front of the bar looking for customers but I have never seen them run out and grab anyone as some of the other ladyboys (and ladies) on the same street do on a regular basis.

Inside the bar things are laid back and cool. The ladyboys are really relaxed and seem to go with the flow more than anything else. Drink prices are reasonable for the area and of course all the ladyboys on staff offer short time services in a room above the street for a grand total of around 1,300 Baht ($41 USD) though some will apparently do things for even less than that.

Nidcha House Bar is one of several ladyboy bars located along or near Soi Bukhao in Pattaya. Nidcha is owned by the same guy behind the previously reviewed Titti Twisters and it operates in much the same way too. In fact the ladyboys at both bars actually share use of the short time rooms situated above Nidcha.

Nidcha House Bar is actually located right on Soi Bukhao near the intersection with LK Metro. It is easy to spot from the street with its big bright sign and open front. If that wasn’t enough to draw customers in — or scare away the more timid types — there is usually a team of ladyboys sitting outside in very revealing clothing.

Like Titti Twisters, Nidcha House Bar has an open design. That means there is basically no front wall to the place, so anyone standing on the street or even driving down it can look all the way into the bar to see what’s going on. Usually nothing more than some drinking or talking is going though, perhaps in part because of the bar’s open atmosphere.

One of the reasons that there are so many different ladyboy bars in Pattaya is that there is room for all sorts of approaches. Some guys like the wild and raunchy in your face action that they can find at a bar like Baby Boom while others want a more reserved atmosphere. Nidcha House Bar would be more fitting for the latter group.

The ladyboys who work at Nidcha simply aren’t very pushy at all. While they do sit in front of the bar trying to lure customers inside, they do not resort to the sort of aggressive hand grabbing and arm pulling I’ve seen elsewhere. They don’t get too pushy or grabby inside the bar either. Of course there are short time rooms available above the bar as I mentioned. After all pay for play is the name of the game and the fuel behind this place and places like it. Still, no one is going to be pulled kicking and screaming into those rooms.

Any customer who does want to take one or more of the ladies on staff up to those rooms usually just has to ask. The rate for the use of the room is quite reasonable as is standard at bars under this owner. Drink prices are absolutely reasonable too and cheaper than what some of the other places around town ask.

There is a mix of ladyboys on staff at Nidcha and obviously things can change from one day to the next. So while it doesn’t make sense to try to do an individual run down from one ladyboy to the next I can say that on an average night you’ll see around a half dozen ladyboys either in front of the place or inside with customers. Most of them will be in their twenties, tall and generally fit. Some will be quite masculine looking while one or two will look a lot more like real women. Most all will have surgically enhanced breasts.

Check In Bar is probably the best ladyboy lounge in the country. The place has a really laid back vibe and plenty of good looking ladyboys. There is really no pressure at the bar and even the farang customers are really cool.

On the other hand, Charades has some of the most aggressive ladyboys in the city on staff. That isn’t necessarily bad, as some guys want to find ladyboys to lead the way or at least match them in terms of effort. The ladyboys at Charades could go toe to toe and blow for blow with the best of them!

Straps is without a doubt the best bar in Bangkok and probably the world for post-op ladyboys. The ladyboys at Straps look so much like genetic girls that a lot of guys are fooled. While most ladyboys in Thailand are upfront and honest about their genders the gals at Straps consider themselves women and don’t want to be called or admit to being anything else. They’re nearly all gorgeous though, with most looking better than a lot of “regular girls.”

Pinocchio’s Club is a tiny little place tucked next to a famous blowjob bar in Patpong. The small size is actually a plus though, since the place is so quite and intimate. It’s a great place to kick back with the half dozen ladyboys on staff and really have some fun. The prices are low too!

The only ladyboy bar in Soi Cowboy, Cockatoos is relatively small but it has some really great looking ladyboys on staff. Plus they all walk around in bikinis! The looking babes in the bar have a clear preference for Japanese and Korean customers but they are all up for sitting with a farang if he has a few hundred baht to spend on a lady drink.

Finally there is King’s Castle III in Patpong which is cool for its own reasons. An open go go bar with a mix of both ladyboys and regular women, King’s Castle number three is always primed for a good time. The people in the bar aren’t aggressive at all. At the same time they are warm and fun loving and open to spend time with whoever happens to wander into the place.

While the third sex has always been accepted as a part of life in Thailand, there was a time when ladyboys were sort of pushed into the shadows when it came to the adult entertainment industry. A lot of guys were loud and proud about their homophobia and expressed a constant paranoia that they would “accidentally” go with a ladyboy.

Nowadays things are changing. There are even mixed gender go go bars with ladyboys and cis girls dancing side by side and places like Straps that staffs only post op ladyboys who don’t admit to being ladyboys at all.

Nana Plaza started out with just one ladyboy bar. Some people were miffed even about that. Now there are several ladyboy bars in Nana Plaza and the number continues to grow by the year.

The DC-10 go go bars has been in Nana Plaza for years. The bar used to hire only “real women.” Two years ago it made a change and now employs a full staff of ladyboys.

Located next to the famed Casanova ladyboy go go bar, DC-10 is a small bar with a single stage running down the middle and stadium seating along the side.

Despite the small size of the bar there are a lot of ladyboys inside. They can usually be seen hanging out in front of the bar when there are no customers inside. When customers arrive they all rush inside and pose on the stage in hopes of scoring a lady drink for themselves.

The twelve or more ladyboys who work at DC-10 every night can be a bit on the aggressive side when new customers arrive. When a customer settles in and either picks a ladyboy to sit next to him or asserts his wish to wait and take a look at who is available, the ladyboys usually calm down.

That’s not to say that the ladyboys in DC-10 aren’t adventurous. Their bikinis are often pushed aside to gives customers a glimpse of their goods, sometimes even when not requested. Nothing too wild goes on inside however, most probably due to the long and open layout of the bar. Anytime someone pushes the curtains at the door open the entire inside of the bar is exposed to anyone standing in front of it.

The ladyboys at DC-10 are a mixed bag. A few are on the more masculine side and one or two are all natural. The majority of the ladyboys have big fake boobs and other work done which makes them look very developed and feminine. Many are post op though some still have their packages intact. A few have the kawaii Japanese ladyboy look that is now so popular as demonstrated by the many members who have joined Hello Ladyboy to jack off to their pictures and videos!

Although there have been rumors of a sky high bar fine at DC-10 the reality is that the bar charges 700 Baht, which is not far from what other bars in the Nana complex charge. The ladyboys themselves usually settle for 1000 Baht to go to one of the short time hotels in Nana Plaza with a customer.

That a review of Casanova has not appeared on this website until now is not an oversight. The idea was to cover some of the lesser known bars before moving on the most famous venues. Casanova is one of the original ladyboy bars in the Nana Entertainment Plaza.

Located next to the stairs on the second floor of the complex, Casanova has become known as a place that is hard to pass by. That is not necessarily due to the attractiveness of the ladyboys who work there however. Although there are some real beauties at Casanova, they tend to hang around in front of the bar. Some of the stronger and more amazonian ladyboys have been known to cling on to guys who walk by and sometimes even drag them into the bar.

Any guy with their wits and a bit of backbone can firmly yet politely move beyond this challenge, but apparently a lot of newbies and less weathered gentlemen are “coaxed” into checking out the bar. That is a shame, as the bar is not a bad place whatsoever. A good business model would be to encourage guys into the bar by means of beauty and reputation. When the staff tries to force people inside it gives off a bad vibe.

Conversely, the vibe inside of Casanova couldn’t be better! It’s a cozy go go bar with a small stage and a lot of lovely ladyboys. They can beg a bit for drinks but otherwise they aren’t too aggressive. Most are just hard workers who want to earn some money while they stand around in some of the skimpiest bikinis to be found in all of Nana Plaza.

There used to be so many ladyboys at Casanova that they couldn’t all fit into the bar. That may be where the tradition of them hanging out front came from. A while back there was a mass cut back that slashed the number of ladyboys at Casanovas, but there are still quite a few working every day of the week. The bar tends to attract some of the hottest ladyboys too. It’s no exaggeration to say that some are simply super hot chicks who happen to have dicks. Otherwise they are not only passable but gorgeous!

Despite the name, the bar is not dominated by amazonians. Ladylike ladyboys with their twig and berries still intact are much more common. Femboys, masculine ladyboys and post-ops are in the clear minority at Casanova.

The bar is filled with comfortable couch like seats, but a lot of the ladyboys don’t even bother with hanging around in them. It’s a money making operation for most, so a lot of the ladyboys come right out and inquire about short time early on. They want to get customers out of the bar and into the short time hotel upstairs.

Casanova charges a 600 Baht ($18 USD) bar fine for customers to take ladyboys out of the bar. The ladyboys at Casanova usually ask 2000 Baht ($59 USD) for a short session, which is more than the ladyboys in some other nearby bars ask for on average. That said, many ladyboys at Casanova go out with guys for 1000 Baht with regularity.
